Common electrical issues we see in Seal Beach homes:

• Knob-and-tube wiring in Old Town — Unrenovated 1920s-40s beach cottages in Old Town likely still have knob-and-tube wiring. This wiring type is a fire hazard, and most insurance companies won’t cover homes with active knob-and-tube. Full rewiring is the recommended solution.
• Aluminum wiring in College Park — Homes built between 1964 and 1970 in College Park East and West fall within the aluminum wiring era. Aluminum oxidizes at connections, creating heat and fire risk. Remediation with copper pigtailing or CO/ALR-rated devices is necessary.
